Yay for Christmas Crackers!!! Zach - trying to understand the crazy contraption Mounties!! They really do exist! The Musical Ride
Weird gymnastics thing.... Zach and I after a day spraying primer and cleaning drywall dust. What a handsome man in a painting suit August 16th 2009
Friday night, we went to a "Musical Ride" with Mum and Dad. It's where the RCMP (yes... the Royal Canadian MOUNTED Police) dress in their "mountie" outfits and ride their horses around a field doing some really neat things. Zach was excited to see real Mounties. There were a lot of people there, apparently the Musical Ride hasn't been to the Island in 20 years! It was pretty neat. The unfortunate part was that before the ride, they had some other performances. The second one was girls aged 5-16 or so doing "dance" and "gymnastics" on horseback. Mostly they just flailed their arms about. All fourteen took a two minute turn. Just when we thought it was about to end, they started doing it in pairs. It truly was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Today was Mum's birthday. To celebrate, we had Thanksgiving dinner. Well, we had Thanksgiving dinner because I missed it last year, and will miss it again this year. It was fun to have it in the middle of the summer. We also found some Christmas Crackers, so we had to do those with Zach too. He's still working on the house like crazy, and I have another week at the store. We're heading back to Utah next week, and are excited to see everyone and to get back into our routines down there!
I went and checkout out the house in Lehi and it has SERIOUS cracks in the foundation. I'm not a home inspector but even I know it was bad. It sits on the edge of a tall sandbar so we are thinking the house settled and went a-crack. It's a big bummer since I had already closed on it in my head =]
